Manchester City’s affluent and ambitious Emirati owner Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nayhan has big plans for the summer.
The first target is Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho, who made it recently clear that he misses England and English Premier League football. The Portuguese will almost certainly join the Citizens at the end of the season, also considering the fact that he is having a hard time dealing with the Italian media.
With Mourinho on board, City will try to sign the following top players between June and August 2010 :
Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus)
John Terry (Chelsea)
Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid)
Phillip Lahm and Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich)
Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Manchester City’s starting lineup may look something like this next season if Sheik Al Nahyan will make his dreams come true :
(4-3-3) : Buffon — S.Ramos, K.Toure’, Terry, Lahm — Gerrard, Barry, Ireland — Ribery, Adebayor, Tevez.
As reported yesterday, Russia national team’s Dutch coach Guus Hiddink is in Italy for a few days and could meet with Juventus chairman Jean-Claude Blanc to negotiate.
The Dutchman is set to quit Russia at the end of this month and could become the leading candidate to replace Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara in early January. In that case (and contrary to recent reports), former Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini and Genoa’s Gian Piero Gasperini would be discarded as potential successors to Ferrara.
It is highly probable that Hiddink will ask Juventus officials to sign some players he knows quite well if or when he’s hired. In particular, Russian national team winger Yuri Zhirkov (26), midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov (24) and attacking midfielder Andrei Arshavin (28).
Zhirkov could join Juve in January as he is unsettled at Chelsea and would leave with no problems, while Bilyaletdinov and Arshavin might be tracked in the summer. Everton could agree to let Bilyaletdinov go in exchange for Juve’s Christian Poulsen plus cash. It would take a bigger effort to convince Arsenal in regard to Arshavin. However, he may be tempted to reunite with Hiddink and the Gunners would agree to sell him with the right offer.
The Russian trio may blend just fine with Juve’s Italian stars like Gianluigi Buffon, Fabio Cannavaro, Fabio Grosso and the other veterans next season. Time will tell.
Man Utd. will be given a second chance to sign France forward Karim Benzema.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is a keen admirer of the 21-year-old and it is believed that Benzema shunned a move to Old Trafford in the summer in favour of signing from Real Madrid.
However, by the high standards at the Bernabeu, the former Lyon man has disappointed. He may have scored four goals in 11 La Liga appearances, but coach Manuel Pellegrini has started Benzema on the bench in six of the last seven matches.
Madrid are now keen to rekindle a move for long-term target David Villa from Valencia and are prepared to listen to offers for Benzema in a bid to raise funds.
Ferguson has money to spend after failing to re-invest the lion’s share of the £80million he received from Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
Question marks have been raised over United’s ability to spend, but Ferguson said: ‘The money is there if I wanted to use it. I didn’t see any value in the summer and I don’t see any value at the moment either. I am happy with the players I already have at the club.’
His mind could change if Madrid offer Benzema for the same fee they bought him: about £35m.
Manchester United are ready to make a shock move for free agent Sol Campbell to boost their injury-hit defence.
Former England centre-back Campbell, 35, has finally reached an exit agreement with League Two Notts County following his ill-fated move.
And Premier League champions United have emerged as surprise suitors for the star’s signature next month.
Reds boss Sir Alex Ferguson would dearly love to get Campbell immediately as Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans and John O’Shea are all sidelined.

«Манчестер Юнайтед» предпочел отказаться от своей опции выкупа трансфера полузащитника белградского «Партизана» Адема Ляйича.
Ранее ожидалось, что 18-летний серб уже следующий сезон начнет в составе «красных дьяволов», где с января находится его бывший одноклубник Зоран Тошич. Согласно договоренности между клубами у «Юнайтед» было право первоочередного выкупа трансфера Ляйича.
Однако, руководство чемпиона Англии отказалось от приобретений талантливого полузащитника, чьи услуги по неофициальным данным оценивались в 10 миллионов фунтов. По мнению «Юнайтед», в распоряжении главного тренера команды сэра Алекса Фергюсона и без того достаточно классных игроков средней линии.
«У нас была опция выкупа игрока, но после изучения его развития в последние 12 месяцев мы от нее отказались. Мы приняли в расчет молодых игроков, которые уже имеются в клубе, и решили прекратить к нему всяческий интерес», — сообщил представитель «Манчестер Юнайтед» в интервью клубному веб-сайту.

демагогию оно конечно хорошо разводить,только игра,футбол который наши футболисты показывают от этого не изменится.главное чтобы футболисты сами это поняли.
а всякие темы,созданные на эмоциях в первые минуты после поражения смотрятся как минимум глупо.
