Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has won the Barclays Player of the Month Award for January.
The 19-year-old has received the award after helping the Gunners on a run which has seen them go unbeaten since the turn of the year. It is the first time Fabregas has won the award since breaking into Arsène Wenger’s first-team as a 16-year-old.
The Spanish international starred in Arsenal’s 4-0 home win over Charlton at the start of the month, hitting the woodwork and forcing opposition goalkeeper Scott Carson into a string of fine saves. He followed this up with an assist in the 2-0 win at Blackburn, setting up Thierry Henry with a clever one-two, before inspiring his team-mates to a late 2-1 victory over Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.
